if it's needed. i know the republican governor there is pressuring, there's pressure on boston, if it qualifies for a recount they would like the romney folks not ask for one. >> well, that's some real reporting. thank you very much, chuck todd, as always. joining me now, chris cillizza, msnbc political analyst. chris cillizza, what about the fiscal cliff and negotiations? what do you think the president is doing and planning and how engaged personally will he be in trying to avoid what obviously is a messy way to start a second term? >> well i think that chuck is right, there are still -- they are making sure that everyone on their team is kind of decided where they want to go. my guess would be, andrea, he's actually pretty engaged only because he's learned the lessons of his first term particularly on health care where it was sort of a well let's let congress work its will and we'll step in and get a bill together and get something done. obviously that process took a lot longer than the white house would have liked. it was significantly more contentious than the white house

four days ago the boston celtics spoiled the washington wizards' home opener but coach whitman was impressed with the heart that he saw on the court that night. well, last night the wiz going for revenge in beantown and once again you can say they played with some heart. the wizards put everything they had out on the floor. down 11 at one point in the fourth, here underneath. jams it home to tie things up at 80. now 30 seconds left, still tied up. rajon rondo nailings the two pointer and gives the celtics the lead. but with time winding down, wiz down two. singleton and slams it home and we're headed to overtime. in ot though the celtics able to pull away. rondo finds bass down the court for the dagger. wizards gave a good effort but lose this one by six. and fall to 0-3 on the season. >>> check out this scene. the second leg of d.c. united's playoff series against new york was postponed from last night to tonight because of heavy snowfall from the nor'easter. if you recall, their first leg was already moved from new york -- new jersey to d.c. because of superstorm sandy. look
, boston almost 50-mile-an-hour wind gusts, 38-mile-an-hour wind gusts in newark. and the snowfall amounts, four inches in stony brook, flushing, seven inches. new york stained newark both setting records, north haven, connecticut, 12 inches of snow. and berkeley heights, new jersey, getting seven and a half inches of snow now. look at the live radar, you can see is making its way up the coast, still snow being dealt with throughout parts of new england. we're looking at wet weather up the coast of new england as well and we have got a lot of wind to deal with, talking about the wind. we are talking about wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour out on the cape. we expect to see wind advisories along the coastline of new england and nantucket, looking at high wind warnings and with wind gusts from washington, d.c. up to boston, anywhere from 15 to 30 miles per hour, probably be some airport delays as well. the good news is, it's just about over. that's the latest. we have got your local forecast coming up in just a little bit. now, let's go back inside to matt. >> all right, al, thank you very m
